> Chapter 4 - Difficulties <

Ami sat down next to Usagi in the schoolyard for lunch.
"So, how was your night?" Ami asked.
        "Fantastic," Usagi sighed.
"I'm very happy for you," Ami said. "I don't think Luna was very pleased about it, but she didn't say a word."
Usagi nodded. "She and I have been through that already. I made it clear I would not listen to her complaining."
"You know who he is?" Ami asked.
Usagi looked at her. "I know he's Tuxedo Kamen, and that he and I are madly in love with each other."
"But you don't know who he really is?"
"No," Usagi confirmed. "He's never asked me, and I've never asked him. We each know the important things. The rest of it will come in time."
"Alright," Ami said, more than a bit surprised at Usagi's nonchalant attitude.
"I suppose we're having a meeting at the Temple after school?" Usagi asked.
"Not today," Ami replied. "I have a late session at my cram school, while Luna said she wants to do more research into this ginzuishou."
"OK," Usagi said. "I guess I'll spend some time at the arcade then this afternoon."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Mamoru saw Usagi about to enter the arcade. "Hello, odango atama," he called. "Going to try for better luck this time?"
She turned and scowled at him. "As long as certain people don't start causing trouble."
He grinned at her. "Oh, come on, odango atama. I've never caused trouble."
"Hah!" she objected. "I was hoping that new girlfriend of yours would teach you some manners, but I guess there are limits to what anyone can accomplish."
"Well, for your information, she thinks I am very romantic and a perfect gentleman," he said.
She raised her eyebrows. "Really? Well based on what I've seen of you, I find that very hard to believe."
"Obviously you haven't seen everything there is to see," he replied with a grin. "But then, you're almost nothing like she is."
"I'm sure you haven't seen everything there is to see of me, either," she said.
"Is there all that much more to see?" he asked.
She sputtered with indignation. "Well, I guess you'll never know!" She turned on her heel and marched inside.
"Hello, Usagi-chan. Hello, Mamoru," Motoki greeted them. "How are things going?"
"Everything was fine, until I ran into him," Usagi grumbled, heading for the Sailor V game.
Motoki watched her sit down, then turned back to Mamoru. "Did I hear something about you actually having a girlfriend?"
Mamoru nodded. "It's a long story."
"Is it someone I know?" Motoki asked.
"I don't think so," Mamoru said. "But that's not why I stopped in. I just needed to unwind a bit after my last class." He noticed a newspaper sitting on the counter. "Do you mind if I borrow the paper?"
Motoki glanced back at the counter. "Oh, no problem. Go right ahead."
Mamoru picked up the paper and leaned back against the counter. One of the main stories was about the disturbance at the Dia embassy the night before, with a picture of Sailor Moon. It was a file photo, and taken from a distance, but as he looked at it he recalled just how exquisitely lovely she was in the flesh. He glanced up, seeing Usagi hunched over the console. Once more, he noticed that Usagi had the same hairstyle as Sailor Moon. As he looked at her, he studied the photo more closely. He knew Sailor Moon's magic contributed to her disguise, just as his own did, but couldn't be certain how much that would affect what was recorded by the camera. Looking at it, he saw still more similarities between Sailor Moon and Usagi, and recalled that Sailor Moon was fourteen, the same age as Usagi. He shook his head, trying to dismiss the notion. He knew virtually every important thing there was to know about his beloved, and he knew enough about Usagi to feel certain that, other than a remarkable physical resemblance, they were as different as night and day. Just then, he recalled what Sailor Moon had said about knowing someone who strongly resembled him. Given their frequent exchange of barbs, he could well imagine Usagi might describe him to her friends as 'largely a jerk'. Again, he shook his head, still struggling with these new questions.
Putting down the paper, he stood up and walked over to the crane game. As the crane moved, he lowered it. He snagged a plush figure in the claw, patterned after Tuxedo Kamen. Closing the claw, he managed to hold onto it until the claw moved over the chute. The plush doll dropped into the chute, and he bent down and picked it up. He held it in his hand, staring silently at his plush doppelganger. Finally, he turned and went upstairs to the café. Taking a seat, he ordered a cup of coffee.
Still sitting at the console, Usagi found herself enjoying a personal best on the Sailor V game.
"Hey. Nice job, Usagi-chan," Motoki said. "You're really doing well."
She nodded, keeping her attention on the screen. The screen flickered as she advanced to the next level. Pressing the buttons, she moved forward, destroying two more monsters, before a third suddenly appeared right in front of her.
"Oh, no!" she cried, as 'game over' flashed on the screen.
"Don't feel too bad," Motoki said. "That was still a really good job."
        "Thanks," she said softly.
She stood up, picking up her briefcase. As Motoki walked away, she noticed a rose sitting on the counter. Walking over, she picked up the rose and inhaled its gentle fragrance. At once, she recognized it as one of Tuxedo Kamen's. She looked around in surprise and confusion, trying to figure out how it got there. Noticing the time, she shook her head and headed for the door.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Usagi took a bus to the marina, walking out along the pier. The yacht was moored there as before, but appeared to be closed up. She walked up to it. The name 'Beautiful Lady' appeared on the stern. She continued to look the yacht over until she heard footsteps approaching.
"May I help you, miss?" a marina attendant asked.
"No. I was just looking at this yacht," she said. "I hope that's not a problem."
The man shook his head. "No problem."
"It's a very beautiful yacht," she said. "I guess that explains the name."
"Oh, no," the man said. "The original owner named it in honor of his wife. I'm told she was truly a rare beauty."
"That's so sweet... and romantic," Usagi sighed. "But he doesn't own it anymore?"
"No. He died about twenty years ago," the attendant explained. "Before that, his son had it extensively restored, taking his wife out on it frequently. But I heard something that they died tragically a few years ago, and the estate only provided just the basic upkeep."
"It looks like it's in good shape now," Usagi observed.
The attendant nodded. "I think they had it fixed up for a possible sale, but then another relative decided he wanted to hang on to it."
"That's nice," Usagi said. "It's nice to think that it will stay with the family."
"I quite agree," the attendant said. "This one has always been one of my favorites." Just then, his pager beeped. "Excuse me. I have to go."
        "Certainly," Usagi said.
She turned and walked back toward shore. As she walked, a part of her still considered the puzzle before her. Increasingly, however, she found herself longing to again be in Tuxedo Kamen's arms as he made wild, passionate love to her. Her insides grew warm and wet as she thought of how incredible it felt to have his manhood throbbing deep within her.
As she walked into the park, she recalled what he'd said about being linked to her. Finding an isolated spot, she raised her hand and transformed into Sailor Moon. She then produced her disguise pen, making herself appear less conspicuous, and made her way back to the yacht. As she approached, she glanced around to make certain no one was close by to see her, then climbed aboard. The door was locked, but she quickly found the hidden key and slipped inside, closing the door behind her. Once down in the main cabin, she dispensed with her disguise, standing there as Sailor Moon.
She walked forward to the bedroom they had shared the night before, happily remembering it all. Sitting down on the bed, she placed a hand over her brooch. Energy swirled around her, melting away her Senshi uniform, leaving her naked. She lay back on the bed, sighing contentedly and feeling so very much at home. A dreamy smile formed on her face as she imagined that she and Tuxedo Kamen were living together, and that she was waiting for him to come home.
Just then, he appeared in the doorway, his eyes going slowly and lovingly over her exquisitely beautiful young naked form.
        "Oh, Sailor Moon," he sighed.
"Welcome home," she said softly. "I'm so happy to see you."
"I love coming here to find you like this," he said.
"Do you want to show me how much you like it?" she asked, giggling.
He smiled, and energy rippled over him, sweeping away his tuxedo. She sighed and her insides seemed to be at full boil as she saw him standing there naked, his manhood swollen with arousal. Her eyes focused on it, as she yearned to take that exquisite shaft deep inside her once more.
        "Ooohhh, very nice," she sighed.
He moved toward her with slow, steady movements. "My thoughts exactly," he whispered, his voice thick with passion.
He slipped onto the bed and moved over her. Her arms enfolded him as his lips seized hers in a deep, passionate kiss. He lowered himself over her, luxuriating in the feel of her young body beneath his own.
She held him tightly as their lips pressed together and their tongues danced, thoroughly enjoying his warmth covering her.
He looked down at her, his hooded eyes blazing with passion and a desperate need. Her beauty took his breath away, and he knew he had to be inside her once more.
"Oh, gods," he groaned. "I love you so much."
"I love you, and I need you, for ever and always," she gasped.
He kissed her again, then slid down over her to her soft, firm breasts, taking a nipple in his mouth and suckling it hungrily.
"Oh, yes!" she groaned, feeling the fire within her growing ever more intense.
Moving still lower, he spread her legs open and lowered himself between them. He kissed her nether lips softly, then brushed his tongue over them, lapping up her sweetness as it flowed out of her. Hearing her sighing with delight, he pressed his lips over her opening, and slid his tongue into her. With her delicate young petals spread open, he gently sucked, drinking in still more of her love honey.
She gasped as intense waves of pleasure swept through her, pushing up through her hips to offer her lover more of herself and trying to take his ravenously probing tongue still deeper. The warm, silky touch of his tongue stroked along her walls, then brushed over her swollen jewel, setting her nerves on fire.
        "Oh, gods!" she gasped.
As she moved, he swept his tongue as deep into her as he could manage. He then drew back, stroking her jewel once again. Her entire body shook, and he continued to lovingly caress her there, bringing repeated gasps and cries of raw pleasure from her.
She gasped uncontrollably as his tongue swept her ever higher. Her entire body was on fire with an overwhelming ecstasy. Just then, her body locked up in a tremendous spasm of climax, bringing a wordless cry of hedonistic euphoria from her.
He eagerly gulped down the flood of her sweetness that poured out of her, then carefully licked her clean.
"Please," she gasped, yearning desperately to have him inside her.
He kissed her nether lips once more, then moved up, pressing his lips to the flesh of her abdomen. Her hands grasped the back of his head, and her fingers ran through his soft, dark hair. He slid up just above her navel, kissing her again.
"Oh, please," she whispered. "I need you, now!"
With a grin, he moved up over her and kissed her deeply, plunging his tongue into her mouth. As she was responding to the kiss, he thrust forward, burying his full length deep inside her with a single smooth motion.
She gasped with raw delight as his mass plunged into her, spreading her young channel so exquisitely wide. Right away he began to move within her, flooding her with the most magnificent pleasure. She clung to him tightly, wanting to hold him like this forever.
Looking down into her face, so indescribably beautiful, he again noticed the golden crescent moon shining on her forehead. He plunged into her again and again, their delightfully conjoined bodies moving as one. Passion swelled rapidly within him as his manhood throbbed and pulsed within her warm, moist, loving embrace.
She looked up at him, aglow with a matchless happiness. In his eyes, she noticed the reflection of something bright and golden, but her mind could focus on nothing but the fantastic thrusting of his manhood deep within her, flooding her nerves with raw, fiery passion.
"Oh, yes!" she gasped. "Oh!... I love you... so much!"
"I love you," he replied, softly and breathlessly.
He pressed his lips to hers, even as their bodies continued to move together, driving his shaft deep within her where they both so desperately wanted it. Their bodies were exquisitely and perfectly joined into one, just as the power of their love had already melded their souls together. As he looked deep into her eyes, he seemed to be able to sense some of what she was feeling, and sighed with purest joy.
She felt the same as she looked up at him. Truly, destiny had brought them together, to be conjoined both body and soul. Holding him securely, she reveled in the warmth of his body over her, of his swollen, pulsing shaft within her, and in the steadily growing intimacy being shared between them.
They kissed again, and he thrust into her. Their pace was growing faster as they soared together toward the peak. Spasms began to build inside him, and his member swelled within her, spreading her still wider.
She gasped as she felt him swelling within her, now recognizing what it meant. His madly pulsing shaft drove forward yet again, setting off her own magnificent orgasm, even as he erupted in his beautiful flood, filling her with his warm seed. She cried out wordlessly in purest ecstasy.
He sighed with delight as he continued to empty himself into her, feeling her inner muscles clamping down tightly on his still quivering shaft. Slowly, he lowered himself over her again, beginning to relax and softly kissing her cheek. His heart warmed with the knowledge of such a beautiful sharing between himself and this incredible young woman he was madly in love with.
"Oh, my love," he whispered, kissing her once more.
She looked up at him and smiled, her eyes aglow with love beyond words, even as she still reveled in the exquisite feel of his warmth spreading within her.
"Tuxedo Kamen," she sighed. "I just love this."
"And I love you," he replied. "More than anything."
He held himself in place over her, looking down at her incredibly beautiful face, and seeing the crescent moon still glowing brightly on her forehead. Leaning down, he kissed her again.
"Do you know you have a golden crescent moon on your forehead?" he asked.
"I do? I noticed one there very faintly last night," she said.
"I noticed it yesterday, as well," he said. "I think it appears when we make love."
"It must have something to do with me being Sailor Moon, but I can't imagine why it would appear now," she said.
"Well, I think it makes you even more beautiful than you already are, my love," he whispered.
She smiled at him. "You are so sweet."
"You bring out the best in me," he said.
He kissed her once more, then very gently slipped himself out of her. After pulling the blanket up over them, he snuggled next to her, and they soon dozed off.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

They settled into the bathtub together. The tub was small and high-sided, forcing them to be close to each other, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Her hair was piled up on top of her head. He ran his hands softly and gently over the curves of her young body.
"I just hate the thought of you not being here with me tonight," he said.
"I know," she agreed. "I wish I could stay and fall asleep in your arms after we'd made love again... But I do have to go home tonight."
"I understand," he said, leaning closer and kissing her lips.
She slid her hands down over his chest and abdomen, then caressed his manhood, which began to swell again. "Oh, my Tuxedo Kamen. That's not fair," she groaned. "You know I can't stay to take care of this."
"Well, if you keep stroking it that way, my love, that's going to happen," he said.
"Alright." She stood up and climbed out of the tub.
He sat there for a moment, admiring the glistening of her dripping wet body, then stood up himself.
She handed him a towel and they began drying themselves off. When finished, they returned to the bedroom. She picked up her brooch, and energy flowed over her, restoring her Senshi uniform. He responded by making his tuxedo reappear.
They walked back out into the main cabin, where he drew her into his arms and kissed her.
"Good night, my love," he said softly.
"Good night," she said. "I will miss you."
"I'll miss you," he said. "Is there any chance you could be free this weekend?"
She grinned. "I think I could arrange something."
She stepped back and produced her transformation pen, once more making herself look less conspicuous. After kissing him once more, she climbed up the steps and went outside. She stepped off the yacht and onto the pier, her eyes lingering on his form inside. Giving him a parting wave, she turned and walked away.
As she stepped off the pier, she saw several marina employees ahead of her, guessing that the shift was changing.
"Anything going on tonight?" the newly arrived attendant asked.
"Not much," the second man replied.
"I think we have a few of the owners here tonight," a third man said.
"Yes," the second man agreed. "There are lights on aboard the 'Beautiful Lady', which probably means young Chiba-san is here."
"I heard that he was here last night, too," the third man said. "The morning crew said they saw him leaving this morning."
Usagi gasped as the meaning of this sank in, feeling a tremendous pressure on her chest. She stepped toward the men.
"Excuse me, sir," she said, her voice weak. "I was wondering... Which Chiba-san are you referring to?" She found herself dreading the answer.
The men looked at her in surprise.
"Well, miss... I only know of one Chiba-san," the second man replied. "That would be Chiba Mamoru, heir to the Chiba fortune and Chiba Industries. The yacht 'Beautiful Lady' is owned by the Chiba family trust."
"Thank you," Usagi said, struggling to maintain her voice.
She hurried away blindly, feeling like her insides were twisting into knots, and gasping for breath.
"It can't be," she gasped softly, shaking her head. "My Tuxedo Kamen can't be Mamoru."
She stumbled into the park, still in shock, feeling like her entire life had been turned upside down. As she leaned against the rail, she saw the 'Beautiful Lady'. The lights of the yacht went out, and a figure emerged from the deck house, walking along the pier. She hid herself behind a tree and changed her disguise, then slipped back toward the marina. From where she stood, she could plainly see that it was indeed Mamoru walking past the attendants. She felt like fingers of ice were clamping around her heart. He suddenly stopped, looking around uncertainly. She stepped back behind a shed. He finally walked on, crossing the parking lot, and stopping at the bus stop. She remained concealed until the bus arrived and he left.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she continued to insist to herself that Mamoru could not possibly be Tuxedo Kamen. Her mind was awhirl with the contradictions she saw between them. Mamoru was handsome, but he was terribly insensitive and downright rude, while Tuxedo Kamen was tender, loving, and caring. It seemed impossible that they could be the same person, nor, given how well she had come to know Tuxedo Kamen, that she hadn't come to seriously consider it earlier.
She dispensed with her disguise and then transformed back to normal. Stumbling forward, she reached the bus stop, and boarded the next bus.
She finally reached her home, still in a daze.
"Hello, honey," Ikuko called. "Dinner will be ready soon."
"Hi, Mom," Usagi replied softly. "I'm afraid I'm not hungry." She kicked off her shoes, then hurried upstairs.
"Did she say she wasn't hungry?" Kenji asked, surprised.
Ikuko nodded. "Something must be terribly wrong. I'm going upstairs."
Usagi had collapsed on her bed and buried her face in the pillow. Ikuko entered the room and sat down next to her.
"Usagi. What's wrong, dear?" Ikuko asked softly, laying a hand on Usagi's shoulder.
"Oh... nothing... really," Usagi's muffled voice responded.
"Usagi, please tell me what it is," Ikuko said.
Usagi remained silent for a long moment. "There was this guy," she finally said, her voice trembling.
"Oh, really?" Ikuko asked. "What happened?"
"I... I thought he was really great..." Usagi said, tears coming to her eyes. "But he turned out to be a real jerk."
"Uhm... How much of a jerk?" Ikuko asked, concerned for her daughter.
"Mom!" Usagi protested. "He was just a real jerk. He was pretending to be very sweet and caring, but then I found out what he really was."
"But you're alright?" Ikuko asked. "You're not physically hurt?"
"I feel like I want to die," Usagi sobbed, burying her head back in her pillow.
"There, there, dear," Ikuko comforted. "It will be alright. In a day or two, you won't even concern yourself with him. Trust me. You stay here. I'll save you some dinner if you should get hungry later." Ikuko leaned down and kissed her daughter's cheek, then stood up and went back downstairs.
"How is she?" Kenji asked. "What happened?"
"Apparently she developed quite a crush on some boy, but it seems she expected him to be a knight in shining armor, which most teenage boys aren't," Ikuko explained. "It's very painful for a girl her age, but she'll get over it."
"Do I hear a voice of experience, my dear?" Kenji asked.
She looked at him, then smiled. "Not everyone is as much a gentleman as you are, I'm afraid."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Luna slipped in through Usagi's window to find her still laying on her bed, her eyes red from crying.
        "What happened?" Luna asked.
"I found out who he is," Usagi said softly.
"I thought you insisted that didn't make a difference," Luna said.
Usagi rolled over and resumed crying.
Luna moved closer. "I'm very sorry, Usagi. But who is he, and how could it have made such a difference for you?"
"He must have been lying with everything he said," Usagi cried. "There is no way Mamoru could be that sweet and caring!"
"Mamoru?... You mean that Mamoru is Tuxedo Kamen?" Luna asked.
"He can't be! He just can't!" Usagi sobbed. "He can't!"
        "Why not?" Luna asked.
        "What?!"
"Why couldn't he be Tuxedo Kamen?" Luna asked again. "When I first met you, you were hardly the most likely candidate for being a Senshi."
Usagi swung her pillow at Luna, still sobbing.
"Usagi!" Luna cried. "Are you just going to sit there, wailing?"
"Luna, you're not helping," Usagi said.
"If you were ready to be really in love with him, you'd have to be prepared for the fact that not everything would be perfectly smooth," Luna said.
"But he lied to me!" Usagi wailed.
"Did he?" Luna countered. "I seem to recall you saying that neither of you had asked about who the other really was. And I also recall you saying it didn't matter."
"It didn't matter," Usagi said. "Because Tuxedo Kamen was so different from Mamoru there was no way they could have been the same."
"Do you suppose he thinks the same thing about you?" Luna asked.
        "What?"
"Did he think that Sailor Moon and Usagi could not possibly be the same?" Luna asked.
        "I... I don't know," Usagi said.
"How did he react to learning who you are?"
"I don't think he knows yet," Usagi said. "I only found out by accident."
        "He doesn't know?" Luna asked.
        Usagi shook her head.
"If he'd been anyone else, someone you'd never heard of, how would you have felt about him then?"
"I wouldn't have cared," Usagi said. "But to find out he's Mamoru is just the worst!"
"Do you really know so much about Mamoru?" Luna asked. "Just how do you know that Mamoru could not be Tuxedo Kamen?"
"But Mamoru's so mean. He's never shown me the type of feeling that Tuxedo Kamen does," Usagi said.
"Usagi, think about it," Luna said. "You are fourteen, and Mamoru is... what?... eighteen or nineteen?... There's no reason why he should show you that type of feeling. As far as he would be concerned, you're too young for him."
"But Mamoru's so rude," Usagi said.
"And how have you behaved toward him?" Luna challenged. "I've seen enough to know you've been at least as rude to him."
Usagi just shook her head, then buried her face back in her pillow.
"Well, maybe this is for the best," Luna said. "You are much too young to be having such a relationship with him... especially if your response to a little adversity is to just bawl your eyes out."
"Luna!" Usagi protested, sitting up and swinging the pillow again.
"Usagi!" Luna countered. "Don't waste all that energy on me! Until a few hours ago, you were insisting you were madly in love with him... so much so that you even threatened to throw me out. If you really meant any of that, then you have to settle this!"
Usagi sat there for a moment, then a hard expression formed on her face. She jumped to her feet and transformed into Sailor Moon.
"You're right, Luna!" she declared. "I will settle this... for good!"
Before Luna could reply, Sailor Moon vaulted out the window and disappeared.

NOTE: Still more to come.

Always remember, good gentles, that a yarnspinner works from and within existing legends and stories. The characters of "Sailor Moon" belong to others. In spinning my yarns, I do not seek to infringe on their rights of ownership, but merely to join with other fans to spread the legend still further. "The moonlight carries a message of love." Enjoy.
